Flowers are not family, nor even best of friends,
yet flowers can give you comfort as daylight softly ends.
Since families may often scatter, friends be far apart,
flowers glowing gaily paint chambers of your heart.
Family, friend, or lover - each absence may cause pain.
A flower's brushless palette soothes till whole again.
While flowers wilt and wither, no longer to enjoy,
family and friends together fill our souls with joy.
So please accept these flowers, small measure of good cheer,
till soon you spend your hours with those you love most dear.
